Processing Technologies International (PTi), a leading global manufacturer of high-performance sheet extrusion machinery, has announced the appointment of Gary Kemp as aftermarket sales and customer service director under a newly rededicated customer service initiative. The company made the announcement at NPE 2015: The International Plastics Showcase, March 23-27 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando (Booth #W4182).
Kemp will oversee PTi's aftermarket and customer service department with responsibilities for upgrades, parts, service, and installation. He brings broad knowledge and experience in management of technical product lines, engineering requirements, installation/project management, scheduling, and lean manufacturing.
"We're thrilled to have a highly experienced professional like Gary as part of our team," said Dana Hanson, president of PTi. "He will lead our focused effort to meet the growing demand for services and parts that is a natural by-product of our continually growing installed machine base."
Kemp has more than 25 years of experience as project manager for installations and service at Goss International Corp. in Bolingbrook, Ill. He held wide-ranging responsibilities including director of aftermarket order management, director of materials and import products, and manager of global product planning.
"I look forward to bringing greater visibility and expanding PTi's parts and service business," said Kemp. "We plan to work closely with new and existing customers, providing the necessary support and services to maximize and grow their business." In particular, Kemp said PTi will focus on an expanded inventory and enhancements such as drive upgrades, control upgrades, and roll lock-outs which will deliver greater flexibility, increased productivity, and responsiveness to its customers.
PTi sees additional market opportunities through its aftermarket offering of coaters, accumulators, slitters, and winders that complement the balance of its sheet extrusion products, while also offering customers retrofit upgrades for aged lines or replacements for competitive extrusion systems.
Kemp earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial technology from Illinois State University and completed training for a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
